RN Patient Advocate

RN Patient Advocates educate, support, and guide you to the options for safeguarding and caring for your health.

What is a RN Patient Advocate?

As a qualified RN and Health Educator in Tucson, AZ, Stephanie received specialized training as a RN Patient Advocate.   Stephanie guides individuals to understand their healthcare options, helps to avoid medical errors, facilitates communication with all practitioners, and coaches to encourage a holistic, healthy lifestyle.  If desired, she collaborates using an Integrative approach, utilizing traditional western medicine with complementary modalities such as acupuncture, chiropractic, naturopathy, yoga therapy, guided imagery, massage, biofeedback, etc.

Who can benefit from Stephanie's advocacy services?

Individuals are often frightened and confused when dealing with the medical system, and it’s difficult to know where to turn for safe, accurate, and ethical healthcare information.  Here are situations where Stephanie has helped:

•    A person who lives alone, or without family nearby, and needs assistance navigating the medical system.

•    Anyone facing surgery, chemotherapy or other medical procedures, and wanting guidance and support through the process.

•    Individuals looking for licensed, integrative health providers (acupuncturist, chiropractor, naturopath, yoga therapist, etc.) to support a conventional treatment plan.

•    Promote end of life and advanced care discussions.

•    Coordination of medical services when transitioning from home to assisted living, rehab to home, etc.

Here are two recent testimonials. There are many more on Stephanie's website and LinkedIn:

Stephanie was the “go to” person.  She helped us comprehend what challenges our mother faced; understood the questions to ask, maneuvered through the demands of Medicare, interfaced with our mother and the medical personnel, counseled the caregivers.  She was unflappable: tough when necessary; tender when needed.  Her communication skills are excellent. (Jeanne W., client’s daughter, located in Tucson, AZ)

My recommendation to anyone facing potential hospitalization is to arrange in advance for a patient advocate. Personally, I can recommend Stephanie without reservation. If you engage her services, she will make sure she understands your medical condition, medications and other vital information before you are hospitalized….  I would hesitate facing even “routine” hospitalization without Stephanie in my corner. Stephanie was invaluable in coordinating Mom’s health care, monitoring her health status, bringing things to my attention, and being a sounding board when decisions were needed.  She was an invaluable part of making Mom’s last year and a half comfortable and as happy and functional as possible.
